Brothers,

The "Alpha Day at the Capitol", sponsored by the Brothers of the Georgia District of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2008. It will begin with a breakfast/briefing on the 20th floor of the "Sloppy" Floyd Veterans Memorial Building (West Tower) in the luxurious Empire Room from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M.

The legislature usually convenes at 10:00 A.M. in both the House and Senate chambers. We will assemble in the state capitol for general observation of their deliberations and proceed to have representatives from each Brothers perspective district paged, so that we can discuss that which we will have been briefed on at the breakfast. There will be a picture taken with all Brothers in attendance with Brothers in the legislature, as well as, other officials (Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House, etc.)

We have prepared a resolution that we hope to have read in the House and/or Senate chamber(s). We will have a debriefing in one of the rooms in the State Capitol and will probably end our "legislative" day around noon or shortly there after. Please contact me for further information, if needed. There will be a blitz of correspondence that will be distributed throughout the district once everything has been finalized.
